Adi Cohen, MD

Dr. Cohen is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and is a member of both the Division of Endocrinology and the Metabolic Bone Diseases Program at CUIMC. Dr. Cohen’s scientific interests focus on bone health in young women.

She has conducted multiple studies to investigate the pathogenesis of idiopathic osteoporosis in premenopausal women (IOP). Dr. Cohen is conducting further investigations of the growth hormone axis and body composition in IOP and is co-PI on an FDA-funded trial of teriparatide for the treatment of IOP in premenopausal women as well as an extension study of denosumab after teriparatide in the same population.

Additionally, Dr. Cohen is principal investigator for a currently enrolling study of clinical, skeletal and genetic characteristics of women with pregnancy and lactation associated osteoporosis.
