Application and Eligibility

FLARE Eligibility

The 2024 FLARE application period is now closed. 

  • Endocrine Society in-training member. Join Now.
  • Currently enrolled in a US graduate program, post-doctoral fellowship, an endocrine clinical fellowship, or junior faculty (within 1-3 years of obtaining first faculty position)
  • Of an ethnic minoritized group underrecognized in the biomedical sciences (African American, Hispanic American, American Indian or Native American, Alaska Native, and Natives of the US Pacific Islands)
  • US citizen or US permanent resident

FLARE Program Application

  1. Complete the online application form
  2. Pick either the Internship Path or the Mentorship Path. Let us know if you are planning to apply for the ENDO Travel Award this year.
  3. Submit supporting documents required for the program and the path(s) you have chosen.

Be sure your full name is on all application items. All applicants must submit:

  1. A CV or biosketch
  2. Letter of recommendation from your research advisor at your home institution supporting your participation in the program and the path(s) you have chosen
  3. Personal statement describing your background and motivation for wanting to participate in the program and the path(s) you have chosen

Additional Documents for Mentorship Path

  1. Letter of support from the mentor you will visit. If you do not have a mentor, visit the FLARE Mentorship Path page to learn how to find one.
  2. Mentoring Plan outlining the goals of your visit. Please use the Mentoring Plan Template.

ENDO Travel Award

  1. To apply for the FLARE ENDO Travel Award, please email [email protected]. Preference given to presenters, although all FLARE Program participants and in-training Alumni are encouraged to apply.
  2. If you plan to present, please submit an abstract to ENDO. 
  3. Forward your ENDO abstract acceptance notification, with the accepted abstract attached to [email protected]
