About the Award

The Endocrine Scholars Award in Growth Hormone Research will reward early career endocrinologists currently in a postgraduate fellowship, who are conducting research on growth hormone disorders.

Eligibility Criteria

Fellows eligible to apply for the award must meet the following requirements at the time of application:

  • Hold MD, MD/PhD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree
  • Enrolled for advanced study as a clinical and/or research professional in an accredited US university or teaching institution
  • Performing growth-related research in any of these three areas
    • Studies of the genetic basis for the heterogeneity of human growth;
    • Studies of growth disorders in childhood; or
    • Clinical, pathophysiologic, or translational studies in the area of growth hormone excess or deficiency

Application Requirements

The following items must be received to constitute a complete application:

  • Completed online form
  • Curriculum vitae, including publications, mailing address, and email address
  • Scientific abstract (350 words maximum)
  • Research plan (5 pages maximum) including background and significance, specific aims, experimental design, and expected results
  • Career development plan, developed with his/her mentor, including summary of career goals and the applicant’s plan to achieve those goals during award period and beyond (1 page maximum)
  • One letter of recommendation from supporting faculty/mentor
