The article featured this month, by Asuzu et al, was published in the April 2023 issue of JES: “Cortisol and ACTH Measurements at Extubation From Pituitary Surgery Predicts Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal Axis Function.”

Meet the Speakers

Diane Donegan and Katie Guttenberg

Diane Donegan, MD, is an assistant professor of clinical medicine at Indiana School of Medicine, Indianapolis. Originally from Ireland, she received her medical degree from University College Dublin and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians, Ireland. She completed her residency and fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., during which she obtained a masters in clinical and translational science from the Mayo Clinical School of Graduate Medical Education. With a special interest in neuroendocrinology, Dr. Donegan has a joint position with endocrinology and neurosurgery at Indiana University. As an active member of the endocrine community, she is on several committees in the Endocrine and Pituitary societies. Her interest lies in pituitary disease, and she has published widely in this area.

Katie Guttenberg, MD, is an assistant professor of medicine at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), where she is the program director for the endocrinology fellowship program and associate program director for the internal medicine residency program. She received her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and completed her medical residency, fellowship in endocrinology, and fellowship in medical education at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Guttenberg received the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Smythe Award for Excellence in Resident Education. Her clinical practice focuses on pituitary disorders.
