Under the guidance of our members we identify and act on issues that will impact the profession of endocrinology and patients with endocrine conditions.
Our policy priorities include:
Increased funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Ensuring health reform efforts have a positive impact on beneficiaries
Improved regulation of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in the United States and internationally
Influencing new physician payment models
Reduction in the prevalence of diabetes and obesity
Protecting access to care for women and transgender patients
Improved research policy
At the Endocrine Society, we are concerned about a number of critical policy issues. Our goals are to ensure that the full body of research available is available to policy makers and to affect positive change by advocating for increased research and updated regulatory processes.
