Faculty Information

Rocio I. Pereira, MDDr. Pereira is the Chief of Endocrinology at Denver Health, Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado, Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Diabetes, and the Founder and Director of the Vuela for Health lifestyle intervention program for Latino immigrants. The primary focus of Dr. Pereira’s work is addressing health disparities in diabetes and obesity.

Dr. Pereira has been a member of the Endocrine Society since 2001. She has served as Chair of the Minority Affairs Committee/Committee on Diversity and Inclusion (CODI), and contributed to a number of other Society efforts. Dr. Pereira is currently a member of the Board of Directors, Board representative to CODI, and the Program Director for the upcoming EXCEL- Excellence in Clinical Endocrinology and Leadership program.
