Lisa R. Tannock, MD, is chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Molecular Medicine at the University of Kentucky and associate director of the Barnstable Brown Kentucky Diabetes and Obesity Center. Dr. Tannock specializes in the treatment of patients with metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and dyslipidemias. Her research aims to understand the mechanisms leading to the increased risk of cardiovascular disease in such individuals, with a focus on understanding the mechanisms leading to lipid deposition within the artery wall. She has research support from the National Institutes of Health and the Veterans Affairs Research Program. She is the current chair of the Endocrine Society's Endocrine Self-Assessment Program (ESAPTM).
