ENDO 2018

Why is ENDO 2018 in Chicago, Illinois, USA?
Chicago is an exciting city and sought after meeting destination with a rich medical and scientific community, but you may be wondering why is ENDO 2018 in Chicago, IL USA, particularly when there could still be a chill in the air. The Endocrine Society knows that our community cares about scientific discovery and improvement to clinical practice, regardless of the outside temperature. But admittedly, like you, we understand that Chicago can be more attractive temperature wise in June. What you may not know, is that the Society plans our annual meetings 10 years in advance. Originally when we were to be in Chicago, it was to be in June. However, when we moved from a June to early spring meeting, the Society had contractual obligations to the city of Chicago. Unfortunately, it would’ve cost the Society more than one million dollars to not bring ENDO to Chicago. As a fiscally responsible organization, your leadership did not find this a suitable use of member dues that could be better applied to scholarships, advocacy, and other ventures that bring value to endocrine community. So, when you pack your sweater to attend ENDO this year, now you know why.

Registration and Housing

Do I have to be a member to register for ENDO?
ENDO welcomes all scientists, students and healthcare professionals interested in endocrinology. While membership is not required, members of the Society do receive significant benefits year-round, including discounted ENDO registration (up to $700 in savings), session recordings, and access to our premier scientific journals. How can I confirm my registration?
Online registrations are confirmed by email immediately. Registrations completed by mail or fax will be confirmed by email shortly after they are received.

How can I get a receipt/confirmation for my ENDO registration?
Registration receipts will be sent by email. Receipts are sent immediately for online registrations. Receipts for registrations completed by mail or fax will be sent by email shortly after they are received. If a duplicate receipt is needed, please visit the Registration Resource Center, where you can review your registration, add sessions, and print a receipt. You will need to verify your confirmation email address and badge number, which can be found on your email confirmation. If you cannot find your email confirmation, please email the Endocrine Society at

Are discounted room rates available for attendees?
Yes. The Endocrine Society has negotiated reduced room rates for attendees at the official conference hotel(s). Visit our Housing and Travel page for details.

Will there be shuttle buses?
Shuttle bus service is included in your registration materials ONLY if you book a hotel room through our ENDO housing block. If you book outside of our block, you MUST purchase a shuttle pass to ride the buses. If you wish for guests to ride the shuttle, you must purchase a pass for them through registration.

I require special assistance such as wheelchair accessibility, who do I contact to assist me?

Do I have to claim my CME hours onsite at the meeting?
Attendees may claim their CME/MOC credits at the Communication Center kiosk on site at the meeting. You may also access it anywhere at after the meeting from your home, office or lab to claim CME/MOC and print your CME Certificate.

How do I get my Certificate of Attendance?
You may print your Certificate of Attendance at the Communication Center kiosk onsite at the meeting. You may also access online anywhere at to print your certificate.

How can I get a Certificate of Poster or Oral Presentation?
These can be requested and printed at the Endocrine Society office onsite at the Convention Center or requested afterward by sending an email to Carol Balsamo at

CMES/Satellite Programs

Do I have to pay for CMES programs or are they free?
CMES programs are free, but you must register for the programs. You may add CMES programs to your existing registration by logging into Registration Resources.

I want to register for a session that is sold out. Is there a waiting list?
It depends on the session type. CMES sessions do not have waiting lists, but we encourage anyone who would like to attend a “sold out” CMES session to arrive at the venue early and stand in the non-ticket holder line. Ticket holders will be admitted first and then non-ticket holders will be admitted on a space available basis.

Is there food served at the CMES programs?
Yes, food is served at both the morning and the evening programs.

How can I reserve a session in the Collaboration Suite?
Reserve a space online at   Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.  The space can comfortably accommodate approximately 20 people and is set up in a conference room style.  Internet, power, projector, and screen are provided.  The Collaboration Suite will be located in Registration C, outside of the expo hall on level 3.  Reservations can be made in 45 minute increments.

Session Recordings

How can I obtain a copy of the proceedings if I cannot attend a meeting or conference?
Conference proceedings may be purchased for ENDO 2018 by visiting our online store. The recordings will be available in early April 2018.

I purchased the ENDO session recordings. How and when will I get them?
This is an online product; the vendor will issue email and access information to all purchasers as soon as the recordings are ready for viewing on the site.

Presenter FAQs

I have been invited to participate as a speaker or chair at ENDO. Do I have to register for the meeting and make my own hotel arrangements or does the Society do this for me?
Yes, all invited faculty must register themselves for the meeting and arrange for their hotel accommodations. To receive your registration discount, you must use the special registration code that was provided to you. All reimbursements will be taken care of after the meeting.

Who do I contact for audio video requests?
If you have any special audio video requests, please contact by February 1, 2018. We cannot ensure that all requests will be fulfilled.

Where can I go to review my slides at the meeting?
A Speaker Ready room is available for all presenters to review and upload presentations to ensure that they are loaded to the appropriate speaking room. Please ensure that you upload your presentation 4 hours prior to the start of your presentation time.


Is it possible to make changes to my abstract?
You can make changes to your abstract, including author changes, edits, title changes, etc., until the submission deadline (for regular abstracts, Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM EST; for late-breaking abstracts, Monday, February 5, 2018 at 1:00 PM EST). After the submission deadline, changes may not be made your submission as they have been assigned for review.

When will I find out the results of my abstract submission?
Notification letters for regular abstracts were sent to the presenting author and all co-authors on December 20 or 21, 2017. If you have not received your notification letter, please check your spam folder. If the letter is not in your spam folder, please email to have it resent, and ask your email network administrator to mark the Endocrine Society ( as a safe sender.

Notification letters for late-breaking abstracts will be sent to the presenting author and all co-authors by February 23, 2018.

Can I change the date of my presentation?
Presentation dates can only be changed due to religious reasons. If you need to change the date of your presentation for religious reasons, please email

When does the embargo lift on my abstract?
The embargo lifts at the start of your poster or oral presentation session.

Is it permissible to have my spouse and children watch me give my presentation?
Yes, your spouse may, but special arrangements need to be made so that your spouse has the appropriate badge for entry. Unfortunately, children are not allowed within the hall.

Can I get an EXPO only pass to present my poster?
No, all presenters must register for the meeting and purchase at least a one-day ticket for the day the presentation is scheduled.

What kind of media promotion can I engage in once my abstract is accepted?
ENDO abstract authors are permitted to issue press releases after abstracts are accepted. The releases may include basic information such as the abstract title, authors, and date of presentation.
