Bioinformatics Workshop: Pathways and Interactions

Friday, March 27, 2020 | 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM

This workshop, presented by the European Molecular Biology Laboratory—European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), is aimed at giving scientists training on how to explore and use protein interaction and pathway bioinformatics resources. Attendees will get an in-depth look into the data repositories, resources and tools available and how to both find information on a single molecule and how to build high-quality networks to enable network analysis. The workshop is tailored to research investigators looking to build networks prior to omics data analysis, or to better understand the biology of their favorite gene(s) or protein(s). Hands-On Thyroid Ultrasound Workshop

The Thyroid Ultrasound Workshop is a unique hands-on experience coupled with interactive presentations from expert thyroidologists and endocrine surgeons. Select from Intro and Advance Courses to find the education that meets your needs. Each course includes hands-on use of ultrasound equipment and interactive lectures to keep you up to date and sharpen your ultrasonography skills.

Introductory Course

(7:00 AM–1:00 PM)
Hands On Thyroid

The Introductory Course introduces participants to the use of ultrasound in diagnosing thyroid nodules and performing ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspirations. our expert presentations, participants move to a hands-on session where faculty will guide them through ultrasound techniques on simulated nodules.  Register early. The course is anticipated to be eligible for up to 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and 5.25 ABIM MOC credits. Breakfast is included. Advanced Course

(7:00 AM–5:30 PM)
Hands On Thyroid

The Advanced Course takes your ultrasound skills to the next level for practitioners already experienced in performing thyroid ultrasonography. This comprehensive course focuses on recent advances in diagnosing thyroid nodules and using ultrasound to assess a wide variety of thyroid disorders including parathyroid disease, cervical lymph nodes, and diffuse disorders. Advanced Course participants also enjoy a hands-on opportunity with ultrasound machines and patient volunteers for firsthand experience interpreting ultrasound findings of thyroid disorders demonstrated by our experts. Eligible for up to 8.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and ABIM MOC credits. Breakfast and lunch are included. Seating is limited. A separate registration is required for this event. View the program.

NOTE: The Advanced Course is intended for physicians with prior experience in thyroid ultrasonography.

The 4th International Symposium On The Calcium Sensing Receptor (CaSR)

The symposium will bring together basic, translational, and clinical scientists from different disciplines who study the biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, physiology, and pathophysiology of the CaSR and clinical disorders of CaSR function. The program will feature recent research on the role of the CaSR in skeletal development and physiology, vascular and pulmonary functions, neuronal injury, parathyroid physiology, mineral and energy metabolism, exocrine and transport functions in the gut and kidney, diabetes, inflammation, and cancer cell signalling.
