The meeting brings together clinicians and researchers interested in the study and treatment of both disorders of aldosterone secretion and their consequences. The meeting attracts not only endocrine scientists and clinicians but also those interested in nephrology, cardiology and hypertension. The meeting opens on Thursday 19 June at lunchtime with a State-of-the-Art lecture by Mark Knepper who will address the role of exosomes and proteomics in the study of the hormonal regulation of salt and water balance. On Friday morning June 20, the second plenary will be given in a joint session with the Vitamin D Workshop by David Mangelsdorf who will present his latest work on nuclear receptor signaling. Friday lunchtime Joann Manson will give the third State-of-the-Art lecture in which she will share her insights relating to hormone replacement therapy and cardiovascular health. This is an international meeting which is the premier forum for the presentation and discussion of the participants latest research related to the study of aldosterone with a program consisting of free communications and a vibrant poster session. The meeting both encourages and recognises the many trainees who attend. For those planning to come to Chicago for ENDO this makes a stimulating precursor to the main meeting.
