Washington, DC—Diabetes experts, policymakers and patient advocates will gather to discuss how the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is affecting people with diabetes at the Endocrine Society’s policy summit.

The summit, which will take place on September 12, will delve into ways to maximize the benefits and overcome unforeseen challenges the new law poses for people with diabetes.

This summit will explore:

  • Current challenges to treating and preventing diabetes.
  • The cost of diabetes care and the impact on various stakeholder groups, including people with diabetes, insurers and health care providers.
  • Intended benefits of the ACA and how this shift in health care policy may affect diabetes care and outcomes.
