Important Message on DEI from Leadership

August 24, 2021

Dear Endocrine Society Members,

The Endocrine Society believes more equal and diverse societies are healthier societies. None of us should be silent in the face of hatred. Last year, before ENDO Online 2020, we condemned the killing of George Floyd. This year, as ENDO is about to begin, we once again condemn violence, this time against Asian-Americans.

We stand by our Asian and Asian American colleagues and grieve with them for those who were recently murdered in Atlanta. It is important that we, as a Society, voice our clear opposition to racism and its pervasive consequences. Global exchange is the bedrock of our endocrine community. We will continue to welcome and support scientists and clinicians from all backgrounds because science, like disease, has no borders.

To the very best in our shared humanity,

Carol Wysham, MD
Endocrine Society President

Gary D. Hammer, MD, PhD
Endocrine Society Past President
