Cesar L. Boguszewski, MD, PhD

Cesar L. Boguszewski, MD, PhD earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Parana, Curitiba, Brazil, in 1987, where he completed his medical training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology (1988-1991) and obtained his degree of Master in Sciences (1993). At the same year, he obtained the National Board Certification in Clinical Endocrinology by the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SBEM). Between 1993-1997 he worked at the Research Center for Endocrinology and Metabolism, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden, where he obtained a PhD in Endocrinology. He is now Professor of Endocrinology in the Federal University of Parana’s Department of Internal Medicine, where he served as Vice-Chair (2007-2010) and Chief of the Endocrine Division (SEMPR) of the University Hospital (2005-2014), where he is now responsible for the Neuroendocrinology Unit.

He is Associate Editor for South America for the European Journal of Endocrinology and serves on the editorial board of Archives of Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is chair of the SBEM’s International Committee and was chair of the Executive Committee of the Brazilian Congress of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2014. He served on the Board of Directors of the Pituitary Society 2014-2017 and is member of the Program Organizing Committee (POC) of the European Congress of Endocrinology (ECE) 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal, and ECE 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. He has authored or coauthored more than 100 journal articles and book chapters, and co-edited a medical book entitled “Pituitary: the master gland”. His main fields of interest are pituitary diseases, obesity, and neuroendocrine regulation of body weight and bone metabolism.
