Kathleen M. Dungan, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Ohio State University (OSU) in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. Dr. Dungan attended medical school at OSU and completed her residency and fellowship in 2006 at University of North Carolina. She then returned to OSU, where she serves as the Division Associate Director of Clinical Services and the Director of Endocrine Clinical Trials, and oversees the inpatient diabetes program.

Dr. Dungan divides her time in clinical care and research in diabetes. Her research focuses on diabetes clinical trials and ranges from quality improvement, pharmaceutical, and device interventions in the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has presented several times at national meetings such as the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and Endocrine Society and has published numerous manuscripts and chapters ranging from glucose monitoring, diabetes therapeutics, to mechanistic and outcomes studies in hospitalized patients. She has served as lead investigator, steering committee, or national lead for a number of multi-center diabetes therapeutics clinical trials.

She serves as Associate Editor for Endotext, Program Director for eDiabetes Review, and has served on planning committee for the American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions and the steering committee for the Endocrine Society Hypoglycemia Prevention Initiative, as well as other editorial board and continuing education planning activities.
