Elizabeth Kan

Elizabeth Kan is the staff liaison to the Executive Committee, Council, Nominating Committee and the Committee on Governance Affairs. She oversees the Call for Nominations for the election of Officers and Council, working closely with the Nominating Committee. Kan also works closely with the President-Elect to select the candidates to fill the committee vacancies each year. Additionally, she manages the committee review process that is conducted every year by the Committee on Governance Affairs. Other governance-related responsibilities include orienting the newly-elected Officers and Council members, preparing staff for the staff liaison role, and most recently, developing and implementing a leadership training program for new committee chairs. Kan works closely with the leadership to identify and coordinate collaborations with other international organizations.

Kan has been with the Society since October, 2000. She has a B.A. in French and Spanish-American Literature from the George Washington University. Previously, she worked with an international company that focused on providing travel assistance and played a key role in establishing new offices internationally and standardizing procedures across all its subsidiaries.
