Aaron Lohr

Aaron Lohr is the Society’s chief storyteller and is responsible for developing and implementing a content driven comprehensive communications and marketing strategy. He oversees the Society’s media relations, digital strategy, web destinations, email, social and all online communications and integration. Aaron joined the Society in 2007 and served as Director of Media Relations and Communications until 2017. In that role he helped build a media relations program that garnered record media coverage of the Society year after year. His media training sessions have helped the Society to develop a strong stable of expert spokespeople who are sought after by journalists all over the world. He’s secured media coverage in top tier outlets including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC News, CNN, and Le Monde.

Prior to joining the Society Aaron served as manager of public relations for ORC Macro where his many clients included the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the Office of the Surgeon General, and the National Eye Institute. Aaron received his undergraduate degree in communication from the University of Maryland.
