Barbara Onumah, MD

Barbara Onumah, MD, is the medical director of the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center, Diabetes and Endocrinology program, in Maryland.    Dr Onumah graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she also did her residency training.  After completing her endocrine fellowship at NIH- NIDDK in 2008, she joined the faculty at Medstar Washington Hospital Center Endocrine Training Program where she served as assistant professor at Georgetown University Hospital until 2015 when she joined the medical Staff at Lumins Health Anne Arundel Medical Center.  

As a general endocrinologist, Dr. Onumah has a passion for treating all endocrine disorders but has particular interest in the area of diabetes with her primary focus being the complete wellness of the person with diabetes.   She works hard to bring today’s most advanced treatments and technologies to LHAAMC.  

Barbara Onumah has been an active member of the Endocrine society since 2006. She has served on various committees including Minority Affairs Committee/Committee on Diversity and Inclusion (CODI), Publications Core Committee and is currently a member of the Laureate Awards Committee.
