Dr. Sona Sharma is a faculty member in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism, and Nutrition at Duke University, Durham, N.C. She sees patients with a variety of general endocrinology disorders and has a special interest in adrenal disorders. Prior to joining Duke, she was a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio, where she had developed a multidisciplinary adrenal program in coordination with several subspecialists.
Throughout her career, she has been involved with the education of trainees including medical students, residents, and fellows. She has presented several abstracts and posters at various conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and has written book chapters. She is the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions for patient care and teaching. At Duke University, she continues to see patients with a variety of general endocrinology and adrenal disorders in collaboration with endocrine surgeons, interventional radiologists, and oncologists.
