Steven R. Meyers, PhD, joined the Endocrine Society as Chief Strategy Officer in 2022. Dr. Meyers has more than 10 years of experience in transforming and expanding association operations.
Most recently he was Senior Director of Membership at the American Chemical Society where he was responsible for strategy, operations, and programming on behalf of the Society’s over 150,000 global members. During his tenure, he was the architect of a multi-year transformation of the Society’s membership model to better meet members’ changing attitudes in how they affiliate and engage with associations in the 21st century.
In his role at the Endocrine Society, Dr. Meyers oversees the alignment of the Society’s strategic planning and governance process to include shaping new initiatives and evolving the Society’s strategic plan in collaboration with governance leaders. He analyzes market dynamics and customer trends to build new business models and enhance existing ones.
Prior to his career as an association executive, Dr. Meyers, a biomedical engineer by training, worked as a contractor for the National Science Foundation on a multinational funding program, and co-founded a company where he invented and developed biosensors to enable at-home diagnostic testing of human breast milk.
Meyers earned his PhD in biomedical engineering from Boston University and his BS in biomedical engineering and BA in computer science from Duke University.
