Priyathama Vellanki, MD

Dr. Vellanki received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and her MD from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine and a clinical fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois. During her clinical fellowship, she also completed a research fellowship as part of the Northwestern University Program in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Hormone Action.

She is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine–Endocrinology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. She sees patients with diabetes and supervises Endocrinology fellows at Grady Memorial Hospital, which is one of the largest public hospitals in Atlanta. Her current research interests are management of inpatient hyperglycemia and mechanisms of insulin remission in ketosis-prone type 2 diabetes mellitus.
