Letter of Support for Michael Regan

February 04, 2021

Dear Senator Schumer and Senator McConnell,

Mr. Regan’s background makes him uniquely suited to lead the EPA at this critical time. An increasingly complex landscape of environmental crises and toxicant exposures is linked to numerous public health impacts including endocrine diseases such as diabetes and hormone-sensitive cancer. Meanwhile, advanced scientific topics such as endocrine disruption require a modernized and systematic approach to environmental policy and chemical regulation that makes use of the latest science generated by researchers with discipline-specific expertise. Mr. Regan’s history of work addressing difficult environmental challenges and improving regulatory processes will be invaluable as the EPA works on these issues over the next 4 years."
