Management of Hypoparathyroidism

Session Description: This session will provide an overview of the management of hypoparathyroidism of all etiologies. Initial work up will be reviewed including indications for genetic testing. Traditional treatment options and newer medications will be discussed.

  1. Identify patients with hypoparathyroidism and understand the etiologies.
  2. Select patients who may be appropriate candidates for newer therapies.
  3. Recognize when genetic testing for hypocalcemic disorders is indicated.
