2022 Transatlantic Alliance Award Recipient

Shlomo Melmed, MB, ChB, FRCP, MACP

The recipient of the inaugural joint Endocrine Society (ES) and the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) 2022 Transatlantic Alliance Award is Shlomo Melmed, MB, ChB, FRCP, MACP.  Launched in 2021, the Transatlantic Alliance Award recognizes an international leader who has made significant advancements in endocrine research on both sides of the Atlantic – in Europe and the USA.

Dr. Melmed is the Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Medical Faculty at Cedars-Sinai, California. He is an international endocrine leader and receives this award for his pioneering research in pituitary medicine and endocrine tumours. An outstanding physician-scientist,

Dr. Melmed exemplifies transatlantic endocrine leadership as evidenced by his high-quality transnational educational initiatives, his professional society leadership, coupled with his exemplary scholarly contributions in the highest quality basic and clinical journals. Dr. Melmed presented his lecture at ESE’s 24th European Congress of Endocrinology (ECE) 2022, May 21-24, 2022, in Milan, Italy. He also presented at the Endocrine Society’s annual meeting, ENDO 2022, which was held June 11-14, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Presentation of the award will alternate between ENDO and ECE in future years.
