The Endocrine Society writes in opposition to the proposed rule, which would eliminate certain types of care for all patients under age 18, even those not enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid who have been diagnosed with gender dysphoria.1 The Endocrine Society believes that health care decisions should be made by qualified medical professionals in partnership with patients and their families, based on scientific evidence and the individualized needs and values of the patient and their family.
