About the Award

(Formerly the Fred Conrad Koch Award)

The Fred Conrad Koch Lifetime Achievement Award—the Society’s highest honor—recognizes the lifetime achievements and exceptional contributions of an individual to the field of endocrinology.

Award Recipient receives the following:

  • Fred Conrad Koch Medal
  • $25K honorarium
  • Award certificate
  • Complimentary registration to attend The Endocrine Society’s Annual Meeting & Expo — ENDO 2015
  • Travel expenses to attend ENDO 2015
  • Potential meaningful opportunities to engage with attendees during ENDO, e.g., Plenary, symposia, Meet-the-Professor sessions, and workshops

Fred Conrad Koch, PhD, the Society’s 19th president, is best remembered for his elucidation of testicular function. In 1957, the late Elizabeth Koch bequeathed a substantial legacy to The Endocrine Society in memory of her late husband, Dr. Fred Conrad Koch.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Hold an MD, PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent
  • Nominee has, and or continues to make exceptional contributions to the field of endocrinology through a lifetime of work
  • Member or non-member of the Endocrine Society 

Eligible Nominators

All voting members of The Endocrine Society, including Emeritus members and In-Training Associates with doctoral degrees, are eligible to submit nominations for the Laureate Awards.

Application Process

Nominators must complete the online nomination form and attach all supporting documents in one complete file* at the time of submission.

*Upload in one complete file (Word or PDF) the following supporting documents in the order listed below:

  • Nomination letter: Clearly identify the accomplishments of the nominee as they pertain to the award description. If the nominee will be nominated for more than one award category, submit a new nomination for each award category and ensure that the nomination letter and letter of support addresses the nominee’s accomplishments accordingly. (No page limit.)
  • Letter of Support: A minimum of one letter of support is required
  • Curriculum Vitae: Include nominee’s current Curriculum Vitae. Substitutions for a full CV will not be accepted (i.e., abbreviated CV, biosketch, etc.).
